I'm going to skip ahead to posting my assignment for Perspective 1 since I just completed it, and will post the other items in Term 1 later. Kept it pretty basic although it took quite a while to work out all the details and shadows. Critiques welcome and appreciated!
looks good, the only thing that stands out to me (it could be perspective) is the floor level. on the left the floor seems to be lower - look at the sofa and the fireplace floor lines vs the right side floor.
Much better
Thank you @HANDRO! I made some adjustments to the dog bed earlier and missed fixing that portion. I hope it's more obvious now; there's a step-up in front of the fireplace.
definitely helps. In my house we have a step that raises the chimney about 18" from the floor so it was throwing me off.
Today I'll be posting some of my exercises from when I first started the Nude Figure Drawing segment of Term 1 in January of this year. I have a bunch to post as I only started using the forum this week, so prepare for a bit of a dump
Proportions:
First ever gesture drawings - 30s then 1m.Jan 19:Jan 25:
Cylinders from imagination:With reference:
Some frames:
And a rough attempt away from the reference (I lost the reference):
To keep things relevant, I'm currently working through Term 2; this is what I've been working on recently:
Custom fence brush:
Anatomy 1:
Shapes:The distortion and interactive shading exercises are proving difficult for me to do from imagination. I'm wondering if I should try using references.
Been working on this nose this afternoon - first attempt rendering one outside of Marc's lesson. I know it's not perfect, but I'm proud of it as a second attempt! Thoughts?
Finished up Anatomy 1 yesterday. Here's the work I did during the lessons. Going to practice the features from different angles first before moving on to Perspective 2.
Here's some figure drawing from the past few days. I wasn't liking how busy the gesture drawings were coming out (see first photo), so I'm making an effort to use less and more precise lines (more like second photo).
I also did some more practice with proportions, and took reference from @Draconia's work because they looked more refined than my first tries.
Nice! Then it's a real win for me to have been able to inspire you a bit! If I may say so, you could widen the chin of your characters a bit, it will fit better with the real proportions, but surely there is a course on the proportions of the face so if you are not there, don't take into consideration what I say, you'll see it when the time comes!
Here's a mix of things I did towards the end of last week. Including some unfinished environment pieces I added in just for fun to break up the coursework. Let me know what you think

And shapes practice from this morning! Used a reference image this time, and this tutorial for values I found on the Discord: http://www.dorian-iten.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/Dorian_ValueStudySteps_V6-print.pdf.
hey, i am using Krita as well and I can say that in the Photo edditing tool parts it seems that Photoshop works way more effective, i had the same problem with the #4 exercise as well, with the collors and shadows configurations, so you are not alone =)
Here are some facial features I've been working on. The colours are a bit strange on the left, and the right side of that iris is muddy, but I'm happy with the eyelashes and light effects.

Trying to loosen up my gestures by removing the points I've been marking and pushing the poses - I think they're starting to get looser, but this is pretty difficult for me. Any advice would be appreciated!
30s
i feel you, removing the points its a double edge sword kinda off, you have more time to do some volumes but at the same time you loose sigh of proportions easily, I think it can depend on the pose u trying to do, if its an easy one for you maybe you dont need the points but if its a complicated one maybe you do, i dont know but that is something i am experimenting on as well so dont take my word too seriously x).But i can say this, I could understand all the poses in your gesture drawing so they are pretty good in my eyes, its just a matter of doing them every day if possible i think !
Obrigado Giuliano! It is difficult to jump off without the points, but I think it will lead to more dynamism and flow in the future. Good luck on yours as well!
Just picked up some new work, so I haven't had as much time to practice recently, but here's something I missed that I've been working on the past week: the 2 point perspective assignment.
Just an in-progress shot, still want to put a little bit more into the details. I've been trying to keep things looser and not be so perfectionist about it, which I have a tendency towards Let me know if you have any critiques or observations!
Nice colours and layout I hope you don't mind, I drew some lines on your picture cause my OCD was recognizing some inconsistencies in the lines
