Hi Cubebrushers and Cubebrushettes! I'm Cedric and I used to hang out on the previous Cubebrush forums. I'm a Canadian who I likes to draw, paint and play music.

I wanted to kick things off by showing some of my favorite pieces that I've made, but I apparently can only put a single image in each post... so screw that I guess XD

Instead here's one of three acrylic paintings I've made that will be featured in a Halloween themed group exhibition.

Here's the second one, with a short story to put you in the mood.

Lam Ud Lieo
Up in the darkness, she was there softly singing what sounded like the words of a spell. She had told me earlier that tonight was the night where the universe was going to reveal all it's secret to us. However, as she was starting to sing louder and the atmosphere was starting to get more suffocating, I felt that it wasn't such a great idea. Suddenly, the singing stopped. I started to feel dizzy and I passed out.

When I woke up, she was gazing at me with a subtle smirk on her face. Her hair started to raise up as she told to behold the universe in all its dark glory. And as she said that, I looked with horror as her forehead opened to reveal the Eye Of Evil.

Ritual
Rising voices surrounds me as she approaches
Intimidated by her, I fall on my knees
Tenderly holding the ritual blade, she marches towards me.
Undressed chanting minions are lit into blazes
As the heat rises with their screams, she moves closer
Longingly piercing my heart as the fire welds us forever.

Ohhh! I love how evil these look! I especially love the first one. The mouth looks so horrific but I cant stop looking at it!

So here's a little something I'm working on. It's the background for a short animation that I'm making. I did it a bit differently than what I usually do. I painted the foreground, midground and background separately with acrylics on watercolor paper. I then assembled each part in Photoshop and added some additionnal effects, I might start using this technique more often because I do like the end result.

So I finished the animation I was working on. It was a bit harder than I expected since I hadn't animated in a few years now. And while it's not perfect, I'm relatively happy with the result.

Wow! Traditional paintings. I really wish I had learned this at college, and not just to draw. The first one was well featured. I like your dark vibe

Hahahahaha! That animation was funny as hell. I remember you from the old forum, even though I stopped posting (Zearthus/Hermidraws) , but really nice.

Just one thing I felt is, the first one looks really flat for the bottom part. Overall solid stuff. Hopefully you will keep us updated on your progression.

@miguel_nogueira2k Thank you very much for your comment! I do start to see a bit of a dark vibe in my work lately. As for the traditional work, I've found that these day my process is fairly similar to the way I'd do a digital piece. So I feel that if you can do digital work, traditional shouldn't be too much of a problem if you can find the right medium. Thanks again!

@brianhermelijn Thanks! I'm glad you liked the animation. And you're probably right about the flatness of the bottom of the first piece. I wanted to keep most of the focus on the upper part, so I didn't work as much on the bottom. It might be a bit distracting. Cheers!

So I started to work on a storyboard for a possible new animation. We'll see how it goes!

So here's some sort of digital landscape that I've extracted from a random mess I've made on a canvas.

And here's what I started with. This was extracted from an even larger mess from which I got a few other potential landscapes.

We'll see how it goes!

So here's 3 rough creature designs I've made for something I call Project Phobos. It's just a personnal project of mine.

And I might as well post the other stuff I did for that project even though it's a month or two old.

@ragamuffin: Thank you! And you guessed right. Although right now it's just something I work on when I don't know what else to do, so I'm not sure if it will ever become an actual game someday.

@enalya: Wow, thank you very much for the nice comment! What I posted in my last post was all made digitally . The only traditional pieces are the first three pieces I posted in this thread and the environment for my short animation (which was also enhanced in Photoshop a bit). Anyway, thanks again for following me

@Firathion: I'll probably upload more. I have one in the making. But animation is not something I'm really used to so it might take some time. But thank you for your interest

Good morning Cubebrush! Here are two things in progress that I'm working on right now.

An acrylic painting (this is only a closeup)

And an animation (it's only a still frame at this point) which I wanted to put out on Halloween, but it proved more troublesome to do than I thought.
