Wow dude, you sure have ambition for someone using a mouse! I mean the scope of some of these, geez.

If you want to get the most out of your mouse, I recommend using the Pen tool, and using Vector lines. The standard shortcut is "P" in Photoshop. I recommend looking up tutorials if you haven't used it before, as it SEEMS counter intuitive at first. To get you started, maybe look at ctlr + paint http://www.ctrlpaint.com/videos/making-selections-with-the-pen-tool-part-1
He doesn't use it for drawing directly, but i've seen some insane illustrations made with that thing.

Another alternative is to scan your traditional sketches and work on them in Photoshop after the fact. I used to do this before I got a tablet, and had some success.

But geez dude, Raven Enlight? That probably took hella amount of time.

Hey stealcase! Yeah raven enlight really took me some time but recently i got an intuos pro pad and my latest digital drawing was made with that ( //I'm blue) . Thanks for the advice with the Pen tool i will surely check it out !!

Congrats on getting the Intous. I remember my first and how frustrated I was until someone suggested I try simple things like drawing straight lines and circles to warm up. Looks like you aren't having any issues adjusting from mouse/pencil to tablet.

At first it seemed difficult but then i realised that i have been doing the same for years with a pencil and this is also just a pen ^^

I really like the wings, they look like leaves. I like your differences in line thickness also. Adds to the depth.

This piece here is called Contrasts and i guess it is self-explanatory ^^ I added some tears in different colors to give it some edge This was the pencil sketch for my first photoshop work I know its not perfect and yes the left side of the face is slimmer but hey , //Contrasts ^-^

I usually spend half an hour of my drawing period as warmup, just drawing 1-minute figure studies. That means everyday i manage to draw at least 30 human bodies simplified, usually in motion. It also helps getting the fluid motion in your drawings, because by the time you start doing your own work, you're already in "the zone". I really notice it in my own drawings when i haven't warmed up this way, since they tend to be stiffer.
I use http://reference.sketchdaily.net/en/ for models and timer.

Currently working on this ^^ Also : yes i turned this image horizontal because it helps to find mistakes quicker I'm trying to make 2 worlds clash in one
-1 the more cartoony
-2 the more realistic
for the more realistic part i really had to take a step out of the box and even made my own brushes for parts of the eye, to give it some texture
