Just completed my Combining Images assignment! I'm pretty happy with how it came out! I forgot to include a river though!

The two trees in the front are really sharp cutted. They don't match with the other trees.

Aw thank you! Yeah, I noticed that too. How would you suggest I fix the sharp cutted trees, for future reference?

I'm not sure. Maybe feather the selection a bit before masking or cutting?
(Selection -> modify -> feather)
Or you can reach this effect in the "select and mask" modus. But I work rarely with this tool. I use mostly "add mask".

Day 1 of Gesture Sketches! 30 seconds, done traditionally. Forces me to not the hot keys for edit->undo lol.
EDIT: I have no idea why they uploaded sideways, or how to fix it lol

Completed this one a while ago, but forgot to post it.

Been also trying to work on gesture sketches, and finished a portrait/fan art a few weeks ago as well! I realized that I should push myself to do the gestures everyday (like Marc said!) and continue with more lessons. I thought to myself "I wanna get really good at anatomy and gestures before I tackle the dreaded perspective section of the course!" But I think that mentality is holding me back from actually continuing. Onwards!

Looks great! I'd recommend reducing the detail of the hair a bit. The amount of detail compared to the amount of detail in the rest of the painting feels a bit distracting.

Thank you! Yeah, the hair is definitely more detailed than the rest of it. I think it's because my rendering skills of the hair aren't as up to par as rendering everything else. Do you think the portrait would look bad if the hair wasn't as rendered? I'm now wondering if this portrait only looks good because of how detailed the hair is.

Nah, I think if anything the high amount of details on the hair takes aways from the portrait. I think it would work just as well or even better if you reduced the rendering of the hair to bigger shapes and strokes.

Nude Figure Drawing Assignments! I get confused on when I should use the rectangles vs the circles for the torso and pelvis. And when I'm gesture drawing, am I supposed to be using the circle/rectangles? Or just go for the line, movement, and shape only?

A 45 minute study! I had planned for it to be an hour long study, but I found myself not knowing what to do after 45 minutes had passed lol. I usually start with grayscale, but today I jumped straight into color. It was definitely challenging. I haven't went right into color in years.
