Is this over the top for perspective?

That It's just insane hahaha So many details!!! It's five minutes that I'm examining all the different objects hahah
Just one thing that I can say is that you could try to add some ambient occlusion between concave corners and thicker lines near us and thinner on the background, but maybe it's a tip for the next one, this is just great

Might be, but over the top doesn't mean bad XD It's actually pretty cool. As @chiara.arcidiaco mentionned maybe having some lineweight or basic shadows could help us read the picture better by separating the elements. But yeah it's awesome!

I like your gesture drawings. You've got some style and seem to have a good understanding of human form already.

shade completely in black and white first. the cape should have soft shading as well as the hair, leather etc. the dragoin scales and the armor should have very hard edge shading so you can tell the surface is slick and metal/scale. that would be my suggesting based on the first pic you posted when joining the forums. Practiced a lot of anatomy these last couple weeks, heres a couple of the nicer looking sheets

My first portraits, I really did not expect having so much control of the facial anatomy after that first anatomy class. It still takes me ages and tons of measuring and remeasuring, I am trying to do these in both painting and lineart so as to not rely too much on one.

Nice job on the portraits. The last one is a very difficult angle, but you showed it very well. For critique, I'd say pay attention to the eye positioning, for some reason all your females have the left eye a little further away. The male portrait was perfect on the other hand.

oh yeah... don't know why I didn't spot that, I actually had it other eye smaller in both of those, I think I overshot when I adjusted the size, thanks

Good job, my favorite is the 3rd one. Also I have to ask, which brushes do you use? I really like the "traditional" like texture of those brushes

Hey! I use the soft chalk from Marc's brushes, it builds up paint really well!
