Another box in perspective exercise. This time I did it properly, with horizon lines and everything! If anyone noticed a mistake I would love to know, so please feel free to give feedback. This took me some time. apparently, perspective is not my friend!

For feedback, it will be nice to see the horizon lines and perspective you drawn to make those boxes (Make sure to drop the opacity so we can see the box after all lmao). But looking at if so far, it's looked structured and makes sense. Keep it up!

Thanks @Gordon003 ! yeah that makes sense, here is it. but some of the lines I erased because they were overlapping and confusing me (still getting used to Phototshop and all the layering business )

First Action Line Practice. This was harder than I expected Would appreciate any help on whether anything is wrong with which should be blue and which should be red (I changed so many multiple times some lines were hard for me to figure out)

Hey Ola,
these look good so far . The only one I think could use some extra work is the secound pose, the right side. I think the arm has to go back as well so she can hold on to her foot. But its a tricky one for sure! Also, please take my advice with caution, I could be wrong too.
If you want to post some of this excercise again I'd recommend to post the cylinders beside the reference, as I sometimes had a hard time to read the pose. Anyway, keep up the god work and be inspired!

It's one of the ones I changed a couple of times because I didn't know which is it and I think you're probably right.. thanks for the feedback!

I like the idea of putting it beside the reference, I saw people do that so yes that might help me.. I'll do that next time

A little practice with cylinders. This time I was deliberate with where I was turning the shape. The lines are messy and I was gonna clean it with a layer on top but I thought what for, It's practice after all Any and every feedback is super appreciated!

oooh noice! dulicate these and flip it around and pop em in order frame by frame and you've got urself an animation

I really like how you turn the volumes by shifting and altering the shapes of the ellipses on the sides of your cylinder closer and closer to each other and making the shapes more foreshortened as we move to the right. I still feel that sense of consistent volume with each cylinder turn. Well done.

You might've heard of my absolute fear/hate of gesture drawing. I've done them multiple times before I joined the forum but this is the first time I'm posting one.. I'm facing my fear I don't know what is it about it that just make my skin crawl.. It might be my OCD tendencies that are against drawing something this messy and being okay with it.. I'm not sure

Anyway, in my eyes this is horrible but my eyes often deceive me when it comes to my work on gesture drawing (or anything really).. In any case, all feedback, criticism, and tips are welcomed, and even needed

Oh, and I know each person does it their own way to achieve the end result, but when the clock starts, I'm all over the place and hella nervous.. I don't know where to start and where to end.. Any tips on how to do it until I figure out my own way would also be appreciated

Those gesture are good! I love the one with existential crisis (1 min up right corner) and the one that hangs on other gesture (1 min middle left)

I also hated doing gestures I was like "it so messy why would anyone do it". I decided not to think of it as a gesture it is just another sketch and it started getting better. I don't really think about time when I am doing it if I need I will just add a couple of seconds to draw that arm I forgot about.

I am always caring a sketchbook wherever I go so I can sketch people. You have only a couple of seconds to capture what you want before they leave or change position. It is funny when they notice you keep staring at them

If you have problem capturing angles or seeing what ends where (i think your angles look good) you can hold pen over reference and then over your canvas. For example put it over arm to see how much tilted it is or vertically to see if head is further than knee.

Hi Ola
Facing your fears is good! i used to hate drawing backgrounds but knew i needed to learn since making comics = need backgrounds. but now they aren't that bad anymore!

In fact a few yrs ago, when i was writing one of my trailer outlines, i wrote "pan over the beautiful scifi cities" and in my mind that looked great but when it came to thumbnailing it i was like uhhhhh nvm lol why did i write that i can't even draw buildings XD

Also in case ur wondering said trailer is not done. i still have lots of plotbuilding/worldbuilding/characterbuilding to do for my story before it can be turned into a comic and i might add more stuff to the trailer as i plotbuild as well.

and now while i still can't draw the kind of background i wanna its still much better compared to before so you will get there too with time and practice

as for gesture drawing, i would recommend picking a place to start when the timer starts and start with that spot every time and not spend precious seconds figuring out where to start.

for me i always like starting with the head, then the curve of the spine, then the curve of the hands, then the feet and then add deets/meat on top of that skeleton
