Thank you! But wait there's a challenge?
Are you part of the Facebook group/artschool + feedback?
No I am not.
Ah, then it is just a really funny coincidence
Here is a study of a Greek statue I found on Pinterest. I wanted to focus on getting better on values and shadows. This also gave me great practice on shading around the form.
Another greek statue study! This one was a bit more challenging to me. Ended up lowering the rendering for the beard and changed some of the forms:
Hey y'all! I haven't posted here in a while but I have some pieces that I've done from the past few months mainly focusing on observational drawing and experimentation:
Impressive stuff Gabe! Hope to see more soon!
Here are some figure gestures and a construction from a reference that I did. References were from a free pack on Gumroad from Rachel Bradley:
Any critiques/ suggestions are highly appreciated.
I'm going to try to post something nearly everyday (or at least 3 weeks to gain a habit). Right now I'm focusing on gestures and getting familiar with the figure again.
Uploading something small to try to hit the 3 week minimum. It's hard to have some plan on what to draw each day due to the amount of information the internet has. Though I do want to focus on FZD, Scott Robertson type of drawing and rendering. Image below has some notes from a James Patel video.
Very nice! Yes I agree the information overload can be overwhelming. I try not to venture into other content outside of art school unless I have questions that I can't figure out the answer to. I watch a lot of the old school feedbacks which help fill in a lot of my missing information just at a slow pace. Not sure if that is helpful lol but its working for me. Keep it up!
Thank you for the advice!
Trying to figure out a pose for a Nobara (JJK) illustration I'm doing for my friend's collage. There are also some figure gesture practice using reference from a figure skating video.
WIP of Nobara. Trying to have a simple rendering style reminiscent of many Korean painters (light, pastel-like brush strokes, ghost-like eyes, etc.).
Continued WIP:
Still a WIP. Made slight adjustments to head and feet. Not too sure if anatomy is correct. Painting is still a struggle for me since I don't paint that often. Could use some advice:
Some bee studies I've done some time ago. Not really feeling the vibe with drawing characters so after the Nobara drawing for my friend, I'll focus on drawing other subjects and getting perspective:
