  • Thank you! I finally cleaned that up. Meanwhile started 3 more ..I have a habit of taking too long to finish a piece, then I lose interest in it and just start something else. I found 8 from recently i started and abandoned, that are decent enough to not delete, but not finished. There’s also been a number of drawings I felt I “outgrew” - became better before I finished them, and it would be easier to start from scratch than fix them. Anyone else thinking that?
  • Lady Death Fanart Collectible: Part 6 Polypaint and base Hi, it’s time to share with you another part of the process to create this fanart piece. Polypaint As this is my first collectible fanart I didn’t have previous experience with polypaint so I tried my best and played a bit with it.I wanted to give a ghostly and eerie look to Lady Death, she is beautiful and deadly, but at the end of the day she is a woman that died and was reborn at hell as an avenging spirit, that’s why I gave her skin tone a bluish very cold tone.As you will see I gave myself some creative freedom to deviate from the traditional color scheme that this characater has in comics and illustrations. To add a bit of sensuality by painting some freckles on the face and the chest. The dark nature of this character was the perfect excuse to gave her a kind of goth make up, very dark shadows around the eyes, blue lips and fingernails. I know that the original character includes sexy red lips but I wanted this girl to have a sexy but at the same time creepy look, that’s why we can see some thin veins emanating from her eyes. The biggest chromatic change I did for this character is at the hair. Lady Death has a characteristic white weavy hair but in my fanart I decided to gave her a very saturated blue color. The reason behind this wasn’t only an aesthetic choice. I want that the face area strongly pulls the attention of the viewer so this area needed a stronger contrast. Another reason is that I want her to have a more modern look, as I mentioned before, I’m strongly attracted to women with goth/punk look. I gave myself half an hour or more to analyse the work of experienced sculptors that create collectibles and I discovered that the use of darker values on the skin is often applied to create a greater sense of volume and three-dimensionality. I found that areas with heavy ambient occlusion are the perfect places to paint with darker colors in order to increase the separation between different forms. Even though she has a bluish skin tone, I used a bit of warmer hues in areas that, in real life, tend to go towards red and pink, this is very obvious in the nose, cheeks, and knuckles. Thinking with a logical mind it’s completely absurd to have warmer tones on the body of a zombie like creature but I didn’t want to limit myself by using only blue tones, it looks boring and artificial. In real life these colors are created by blood vessels in areas where the skin is very thin. ** Scythe **for her weapon I applied a cool gray with some warmer variations, this color scheme is influenced by the work of H.R giger. Base I’d like to talk about the design for the base which, to be honest, I forgot to develop along with the character. My main idea with the base is to show that Lady Death inhabits a very sterile and arid land, at the end of the day she is at hell. You can see a that she walks over dirt and rocks, a sign that she’s surrounded by death and loneliness. As part of the landscape we can see some bones and skulls to reinforce the idea of lack of living creatures, yet we can see three hands that try to reach her legs. This hands represent that all creatures are subordinated to her power and seek an evil blessing with a simple touch of the princess of the damned.1- The hand with skin burns represents the souls of those who are newcomers to hell, tortured souls that suffer for the sins comitted on earth.2- The hand with greenish rotten skin and pustules is the reminder of the decay that has infected the souls of those who have been trapped and have forgotten their humanity3- Last but not least, the hand of a demon shows that even dark creatures and entities bow before her presence. The cherry on the top, at least in my vision, are the simese twins that emerge from the ground, this malevolent creatures remind us that in hell there’s only perversion and any trace of innocence is lost. Thanks for reading till this pointI’m really happy to be very close to finish this creative journey, last but not least it’s mandatory to talk about splitting the sculpture in several pieces to be printed, this will be my last entry before showing the final rendered images. See yaMay Zbrush be with you

Don't have.
Don't have.
Doesn't feel like a pro website. (meant the code here forgot to mention that.)

Your site resized this image its 2500 x 2500 posted on time idk how it was resized.
img posted to show original with size.

The shader that doesn't work in the mviewer :frowning: info on how to replicate is in the description. Again didn't change anything, had 4 lights had to delete 1 for the viewer, just wanted to show this neat little trick i stumbled upon.

Entry:
Female warrior welding the power of light.

3 Days of messing around, goal was to make a bad looking good guy (Gal) with a touch of sexy... idk if that came across.

Rip it a new one, tell me anything references with colors tomorrow.

Will post the colors tomorrow since atm i am having issues..
Still made in time since this error \/ is the size required for entry, idk why the img doesn't show up here i didnt edit it because it shows the time of the post being legit, the img is on the last post also.

EDITED BECAUSE I SAID IT A LONG TIME AGO THAT PEOPLE COULD RIP THE MODELS OUT OF VIEWERS NOBODY LISTENED TO ME.

^But its okay i made this model way complicated on purpose so, good with that.

Let this simmer since I need to figure out what i want to change, ect.
Edit Fixed 3: I work with 50% brightness contrast and the flux app, so it was really weird looking to me sry.
Sorted, should be good for now, fixed some things i disliked.
Posed the img cause standard was boring.

Hope you like C&C can give even if you hate it can specify why, feel free to share lol.

So 4 full days - 8am to 12am-ish some of those days. . . have to take a break or burn out.

Played with other colors, i really like the middle row, i think what i posted above works best but, will give it a another day. Woke up in drawing hand pain, had to do them exercises, still need time to rest it.

Can pick you favorites to persuade me to change the colors or suggest a color scheme to try out, thanks for liking watching reading.

Well I am confused ... because I love the top three, the middle one, and the bottom middle and right...... you could do all of them  <3

Thanks yea i like the middle one also, was trying to give it a cyberpunk vibe, somethings to things about for sure thanks for the comment.

hey, i see what you mean. ^^
nice work!!

Appreciate all the positive feedback everyone, likers included..

Took another few days of rest and finally got around to working on the 3D model. WAS going to use a base mesh i had but decided to see what a more stylistic mesh would look like.

So made this today start to finish so this is a brand new mesh made specifically for this contest.
It is very rough but wanted to update the thread.

Some comic D.G. references to help, I think it will work out once i figure out her body thickness and have the other bits be more bulkier so hopefully they all work well.
(still have the old base mesh if anyone feels i shouldn't do this.)

Was aiming for about 8.5 heads tall, ears, eyes, lashes, brows are temp since those all will probably be covered by the helmet, though i might do something so it can be lifted, still undecided.
Face will change.

Much to do still, rough, wanted to wait to update but this shows its new still being rough.

The concept is great! The teal and purple look good, the middle one in the bottom image is great too.

Just some of the base stuff in place for today, might have to leave off the visor or re-work that part cause i am liking how she looks without it.

Still debating with the colors, i'll have to give it a good thought maybe a full day after everything is set up to where i feel its decent enough.

Did a lot but only have this to show, otherwise i just sharpened the pants which took a bit of time, not much done this week, went back to re-review it all and see what needs to get a face lift.

What are those!

The footwear floor plates are in the very 1st post so, just didn't know how to work them in and i got a good idea for them if it even works out.

Time to check out some entries and c&c if i can, also welcome to post here, have a good weekend.

Sry to bump again i just been sorting out the design since last night, need rest this is more like it, i just moved the ugly looking headset weapon to the hands, i'll fix it all up better but for now, this is pretty much it.

Going to spend the next week or two refining this adding details all that jazz, probably won't post till i can get what i want in.

So glad it came together in the end, i had two orbs in a rough design where the diamond's are on the shoulders and i added the middle point on the crown to hold up the veil(sp?) better.

Anywho tell me what you think cya in a few days or more.

the side arm drape are a shield when needed.

The weapons on he hands are light beams can shoot and slice and dice.

Hair/Face/Hand Updates

Undecided about the hair plugs, ha pun intended = RGB / light spectrum.
Otherwise the img explains the rest.

She's can move at the speed of light?! so why not add a symbol.

Nice character so far, I'm interested to see the final form.

Thanks @Hrgb , @starakat - I am really trying here. :stuck_out_tongue:

Update for comments and i placed some ornament type things on her, still working on all them and trying to figure out what to keep what to remove ect. i don't dislike like the H at the back side of the neck but idk atm what to put there, was thinking about making the back surrounding the opened back more mechanical to be more interesting but idk.

Fixed neck guard, added new elements, adjusted face, added temp wrinkles, added elf-ear-ring- dimmed the plug colors..and remeshed most of the mesh to game res for easy next step, once the details are in and where me and everyone think it is ready for game stage.

See someone else who hasn't even posted any 3d had a similar idea, might just leave this as a zbrush render and make it 3d game mesh on my own time, not going to put much effort when i can see the outcome.
