Hi folks, Datwaz here, from France. I'm currently undertaking Marc's LearnToDrawIn1Year challenge and I'll post my progress here. This year is to be a prelude before trying out Marc's Art Program.
As far as tastes are concerned, I have a clear preference for Sci-Fi/Tech/Mechanic/Military stuff, although I like heroic fantasy as well, huge fan of Blizzard's Starcraft, Warcraft 3 and World of Warcraft universe.
So far, if my sketching skills have started to get better, I still have a mountain to climb regarding rendering (shading/coloring in particular).

P.S. : I don't always have access to my computer, so I go traditional from time to time. The relationship between pencil and paper is....not the same as the tablet. This is why you'll see from time to time pictures of my sketchbooks.

P.P.S : As a senior CAD engineer by trade, I'll also share some work I do in 3D (I'm not bragging when I say I'm far more proficient in 3D than I am in 2D....)

So, the assignment for January was to do at least 30 sketches of gesture drawing, and do some studies of other artist's art.

Nice work. I definitely recommend entering our current art challenge this week. This week is a focus on gesture drawing. Link here for more info on it.
Looking forward to seeing your growth throughout the year
