Hello everyone! Piston here..! I'm going to post my artworks here starting with some stuff I made in 2019. Would be really happy to get some constructive feedback from you guys, as I'm currently struggling a bit at getting better. At the moment I focus on practicing drawing faces since I feel like they are lacking a bit..

This is a design I made for practice. She's some kind of sorceress that uses the gems she wears as a source of magic.

Here I experimented a little bit with the rendering style. Wanted to have something in the direction of hearthstone or similar stuff.

This is a painting I made for halloween.

WIP - This is an Idea I had for a monster after I played the newest DMC. Its not finished yet. Going to finish it fairly soon tho.

Thats it for now. I will post WIPs and practices in the future. Looking forward to hear what you think!

Hi! Welcome to the forums! Your work has nice colors and rendering. I just spotted a few little things that I think could be improved in the first and second one.

For the first one, it's the position of the arm holding the staff. While it's possible to have your arm like this, I don't think it feels quite natural. I think the arm should bend less towards us and more towards the front of the character, I did a quick paintover to show what I mean.

As for the canon, I think the perspective of the barrel doesn't line up with the rest. It should come more towards us, I think. Something like this perhaps

For the arm of the sorceress I wasn't quite sure how to angle it. Wanted her to look more feminine by twisting the arm away from her body, but you are right. It definitely looks more natural the way you overpainted it.. Same for the cannon. Didn't pay enough attention to the perspective as it seems.. Thanks!

These are sketches (from reference) I did as practice the past days. I try traditional media more often lately for stuff like this as I'm getting a little bit tired from working on the PC the whole day. I hope the photo quality isn't too bad

Small update! Been drawing mostly in my sketchbook lately because I dont't have too much time atm. I really enjoy doing those rough sketches especially with ink. I'm still experimenting but I hope you like them.

Decided to work on this one a little more. Never did something in this style before, but I quite like the outcome. Not sure if at some places I could have rendered it out a little more or not maybe I'll get back at it and add some things..

I really like the sketches! And they look great in colors too. I also like how you turned one of them in to a more complete painting. That's a cool idea.

Thanks Cedric! It was a quite fun workflow, working from the photos taken of my sketchbook. I tried to keep the paper texture and traditional look and am currently also experimenting further with this kind of style..

Thank you @hello37. Yeah, I quite like Procreate. Its nice having it on the go, but when available I usually prefer working in photoshop and a cintiq tablet.

Not sure about this one. I think its hard to read and the pose probably a bit weird. Decided to finish it tho. Maybe I'll make small adjustments later..

This is an old sketch I'm going to get back at when I find the time.

I see what's going on... the render and coloring are great! Her outfit and pose make her hard to read. I suggest you to lower her right feet, so you can easily read her silhouette.

Her left leg is farther, and you can take advantage of that. You may add a little atmosphere. That would make that leg to be lighter.

Thanks @hello37 I'm definitely going to try that out before I start a new one.

Another portrait painting. I don't always know when to stop working on an image. This one I spent about 7 hours on, aiming for a painterly look. Also I think cropping the right side of the image a bit could be benefitial, but I'm not sure about that. Probably gonna get back at it with fresh eyes...

I started actively practicing portraits exactly 1 year ago. Compared to the results back then, I'm really happy with how it turned out and it really motivates me to keep going

Hey, thanks to all of you, I really appreciate your Feedback!

Been quite buisy the past few weeks, and apart from other stuff was only able to paint a bit on my iPad. When looking at it now I think I could have defined the nose a little better. I find it a bit hard to do detailed stuff in procreate. So maybe I'm doing some changes later.

I edited the pic a bit in photoshop at the end. Not sure if I made it better:
