Looked through my old pencil drawings and could need feedback. Should i include traditional stuff liek this to my portfolio? I always add those since i still draw with pencils everyday and make my initial digital illustration on paper first.

Hello @siireenh. Nice to meet you. I'm also a freelancer, preparing a portfolio for job currently.

Your work really nice, you will be able to successfully complete the portfolio and apply for job.

Regarding this point, if these pencil drawings are part of your workflow, I think you can try to show your workflow with this drawings, instead of placing it alone. Because these seem like exercises.

From your pencil draft, your craftsmanship is good, and these can all be presented in your final work.

I think the final artwork plus a clear workflow will make the art director know you better.

Thank you for the feedback:) That's a good idea, i thought of illustrating some of these sketches, so i can add these as part of my workflow.

I found this topic in blog while having dinner and I recommend visiting sincerely.

Especially this part:

The same situation happened in my last job. When I was interviewing, the internet had problems and they couldn’t download my portfolio. I brought my laptop and used my computer to show my work, so the interview was able to continue.

Made a study recently and implemented my OC Rhyva in this (i draw her way too often lol). I want to improve my brushswork and values, keeping it loose and focus too much on rendering every single detail

Working on a big, personal project as addition for my portfolio and improving my art. Testing painting attempts for now and picking up a right color palette. Would go for a more painterly look with some visible lines left in the end

Panel idea i illustrated, tried something new with the linework and textures. Might use it sometime for a story i'm working on.

and the quick sketch^^

Woaw I love your art!!!!

Long time no see! I'm currently rebuilding my portfolio and practiced landscapes, here is the result:)

It's looking nice! I'm loving the textures and just the overall vibe I get. It seems like I've been walking in a barren land for so long, with nothing in sight until this very moment. The first sign of civilization in what feels like forever is such an exciting sight!

Sorry, I got carried away haha!

Love this last one. The swirls in the red make me feel like I'm traveling up there. Nice piece for concept art.

Long time no see:D Busy with surviving stuff and learning new techniques and programs. This is a character from a friend, we write a story together with our OC's and i wanted to paint him in fancy gold armor/clothing. It's still not done, will make a few more adjustments and final touch ups^^

Welcome back! Even if it's apparently not finished, that new piece looks really good already. Nice job!

Thank you^^ just trying to push this more to give it a little "wow" effect:D

Well, it already has a wow effect on me, haha! Can't wait to see the end result

Managed to finish this and quiet happy with it

It's been a long, long time but i thought of sharing again since my art journey finally kicks off, being busy with commissions and streams and all:D
I'll start with the cyberpunk Miku i made last september with some process steps:3
