Hi,

So i've been watching the videos and following along with the exercises but i would like a little clarification regarding the proportions between a male and female character.

Assuming that both characters are the same height all the bone landmarks would fall in the same place on a vertical line right? Which means the only real difference would be the width of the the hips, ribcage and shoulders as well as placement of fleshy landmarks i.e. nipples, navel and level of the buttocks. If Marc or anyone else can confirm this it would help me a lot.

Also can i suggest creating a sticky thread for each term specifically for asking questions regarding anything related to the videos for that term? I realise that would end up with a lot of sticky threads but i think it would be great to have somewhere people can go and search for clarification on specific topics rather than having to wade through a load of other posts.

Thanks for any help regarding my question.

One vertical difference is the waist and in turn the elbows, but everything else is generally the same.
I agree with you on having a thread for questions. It would be really awesome if Marc did a Q&A video or showed how to properly do the assignments at the end of each term. It's a little off putting that we'll never really know how to do the curve and level adjustments properly. But I do there's definitely power in community and I feel like we could help each other out.

WELL. One of the Best ways to learn is to look at comic Art. The Stereotype Male hero and female have very distinctive yet specific proportions.

PINTEREST is your best friend. use it to find images and studies, and find the ones that other people have done. Saves you having to compile them all and use those to teach yourself.

I highly recommend doing life studies of male and females to see yourself.

On the topic of doing the assignments correctly, Well the easist benchmark is whether or not you can apply what he is teaching here and apply it to your own work.

AND if it looks like what your favourite artists are doing you know you are on track
