So here's another character I had in mind in Project: Ennoia, her name's still undecided, but she's entitled the Queen of Blight.
At the very beginning of the process, I don't really have a very concrete idea of what would she actually look like other than the fact that she had light hair, pale skin, and someone who can "manipulate" mana at will to wield any weapon of choice.
While working on the body, I thought it would be cool if her dress is also made out of mana meaning, it's a part of her body, so I ended up using pretty much the same tone and hue of her dress to her skin. This was good and all until I realize how I dislike the contrast of her overall design. Everything about her is just bright., too bright. I tried adding some accessories w/ much darker tones to bring focus on important areas such as her face, but it kind of ruined the feel of everything about her design being made by her.
This problem left me no choice but to try to experiment a bit and question why I decided to do the thing I do lmao.
Here's the part where I decided to give her dress much darker and deeper value in contrast to her skin. I'd say contrast-wise, it's aight, but the overall feel about this design is just.. meh. The part of the design that made her "special," in which her dress is a part of her is gone, making it look too generic for me.
*Note to self. Avoid using the symmetry tool. I know it's fun and convenient, but... just dont.
Thus, brings us here today where I decided to redesign her whole and start from scratch. Thumbnailing is not necessarily something that I do even though I know I should. But doing it this way gives me much more freedom to explore and test the limit of how many variations I can come up with from a single concept. So yeah, lmk which one of these potential redesigns for her you guys liked the most!
Have a good one y'all! ^^

Heeeya~ Here's a character concept art update of the Queen of Blight. With help from people from discord and other sources, I decided to further push the design of the most liked silhouettes. Tbh, I pretty much enjoy both of the designs and might just end up using them as two separate characters, but still fell free to lmk which one's your favorite! ^^

Hello again everyone! It's been almost a month since I last posted on this blog but here's an update!
I decided to put on hold the finalization of the previous character design concept, the Queen of Blight, and focus more on fleshing out the actual foundation of the world by working on some normal/not-that-important characters' clothing and some early buildings and environment designs!
Buildings and Environment Concept designs! I also used this opportunity to hone my perspective stuff so yeah! Killed two birds with one stone.
Side characters aside, here's another somewhat major character I worked on for Project: Ennoia! Rosee, The Crimson Bunny. A beast-kin of an unknown origin who used to wander around the outside forest of Enn and was recruited and made her way up as the head of the army for the city of Enn.

I really liked her design and the background story I had for her in mind so I ended up working on a full illustration of her past.
